First tricopter outside flight!

I only flew a few moments, but man that was sweet. Unfortunately the camera stopped recording so my follow up flight didn’t stick. I was also flying on the yard and at close to sundown so I didn’t feel like pushing it further.

Hopefully I will soon have a lot more videos to post.

Instagram post 1588655989627279467_3190230075 Testing first prototype of a "DIY RX battery backup system" for total runtime. All parts are "standard" ready built PCBs. Idea is that I can use RSSI to find my model even though LiPo disconnected or drains or such. The backup is charged "onboard" when on main LiPo power (if needed) and I will have voltage telemetry from both with alerts in OpenTX. I've setup a timer to count up to when RSSI drops. Hopefully I'll get a few hours out of this 333mAh 1s. Maybe someone can make a really small version of this so I can have it on my quads without adding weight and wasting space and having to develop it myself ;). What do you think? Would you use it? #frsky #taranis #taranisplusx9d #d4rii #frskyxsr #tbs #teamblacksheep #tbscrossfiremicrorx #mylipode #fpvbuild #midrangefpv #longrange #backupbattery #teamfailsafe #diode #lipocharger #rcelectronics #failsafe #brownout
Instagram post 1585818946043790134_3190230075 Suddenly it's done! ... The 4-inch Fat Bastard - I got this frame ~11months ago 😂so I guess it's my "slowest" build yet (as in from ordered to finished). But It's mostly because I decided on the lower profile and all cameras that fit back then where shitty cmos ones... Until I recently got my #runcammicro in a #kwadbox and realized I had all the parts for this little bastard just laying around. Antenna mount is just a prototype of an idea where I want it to turn down 90degrees to horizontal position for transport and when flying it's latched in vertical (It's a bit more advanced than whats visible). I know it's gonna break at first landing, small price to pay for "innovation" 🙃Got a better sollution? #showmewhatyougot #stupidbuild #birdseye #fatbee #tbscrossfire #kissfc #betaflight #emaxrs2205s #tbsbulletproof25a #matekpdb #tbsunifyprohv #fpvbuild
